Making Beats That You Can Bump In Your Friends’ Car Just To Show Off

Well the short answer for that question is that you get to add your own flavor into the sizzle. In other words, you can add your personal touch to the hits that you’re making. Since you are the one making it you have creative control and as long as you have some type of inspiration, you’ll be able to produce good sounding beats that have your own unique flavor.
How do you get inspired?
Come on, that is not a serious question is it? You can get inspired by ANYTHING. Although musically speaking, you can piggy back off of your favorite artists music to get you hot and ready for making love, I mean making beats. Everyone knows those certain songs that will get you into the mood- to make beats.
You can also listen to some samples and some loops when you’re ready to go, and then as you make your hits, one day you just might BLOW UP and spread it all over the place (your music).
How do you start making beats?
You can also start with just drums, using something like a drum machine or whatever beat making software you have chosen for your creative endeavors. The three basic drum sounds are a hi-hat, kick and a snare.
You can start by observing the beat in your favorite songs. You will begin to notice the individual elements and that they have predictable patterns. Try to focus on one thing at a time, like a hi-hat pattern, then the drum kick patterns, and also the snare patterns.
So if you count from 1 to 4 you can add in each element based on this count. For instance, you can play the hi-hat sound on all four of those counts. 1-2-3-4. But then for the kick you may only choose one specific count like the count 3 or count 4. And the same goes for the drum kick. Just play with this stuff and you’ll catch on in no time at all.
Other basic components of a beat also include other percussion and melodic instruments that give your song more of its shape. You may also want vocal instrumentals if that’s the style that you want for your music.
If you don’t know exactly what you want, you would benefit a lot for sampling. Good beat making software will have sampling available to you, but you can also create your own samples.
Creating your own samples
1. To do so take out your audio editing program and import all the mp3s of the songs you want to create a sample from.
2. Next sample the features that you want from the mp3 sources by simply cropping your audio files into files of 1-3 seconds in length. You can get only the sounds that you want by listening and getting that specific part that you liked from a song.
3. Finally, keep your samples organized in folders labeled by instrumentals, source of the sample or style that you wan to work with.
